Chateau Ste. Michelle, Columbia Valley (Washington) Sauvignon Blanc 2007

($11): Chateau Ste. Michelle nearly always gets it right.  They certainly did with this well-priced balanced Sauvignon Blanc.  It has just the right combination of herbaceous flavors and acidity. It has a enlivening pungency without being shrill or aggressive.  It’s perfect for summertime sipping with steamed clams. And look at the price; it’s a great value. 88.
